  1. my neighbor was the happiest man I ever knew, he was siting in his garden all day long,.. and even with 94 years he still tried to play games with my little siblings and watched out for our pets… it wasn't until his funeral that I found out, that he was captured in stalingrad and worked in a mine for years, where he got several lunge diseases, he has been coughing all day long ever since…
he died with the age of 94 by suicide…

  2. One of the most underrated movies ever. Amazing acting performances, great screenplay. The will and the desire to escape from the regime is just epic. I made my research after the movie and i conclude that it really happened. The writer of the book is a liar, but plenty of people that saw and interviewed these people have no reason to lie whatsoever.

  3. I watched this yesterday and this was a really good movie. The fact that this stuff actually happened in those days made it even better. A lot people were forced into overcoming adversity during those days. Sad! 🙁

  4. an awesome movie. made me a bit teary. its an embodiment of human spirit and survival. the way how they walk so much with pangs of hunger hitting them every minute is indeed amazing. this movie is based on a book. though controversial but we have seen clearly what a human can do in the face of adversity. its an incredible film. 9/10 rating by me.

  5. Just watched this yesterday and really enjoyed it. I love these types of movies. I think that there should be more soundtracks in it. Still great, inspiring and one of the best movies I've ever seen! 10/10

  6. My great grandfather was lost in battle when he was sent to the front line for thoughts against the USSR. His son, my grandfather was only five years old and they sent a letter saying that he was lost but probably dead. A few years later, one of the soldiers confessed that he had escaped but his body was never found. My grandfather never talks about his father because it hurts him too much but he once told us that he tried to be the best father he could be since he never got to have a father for too long.
